Holiday 2017 Arrives on Club Penguin Island!

Hello Penguins,

As included in the new update was HOLIDAY 2017, the island's first of hopefully many Holiday themed events to come.

Introduction and Coins for Change

Upon logging in, you will be greeted by this cutscene of Aunt Arctic in Island Central, informing you of the Coins for Change event. Be sure to wave a flipper if you see her around the island! Alike in adventures, continue tapping through the dialogue once read.

Oh dear! What a problem to encounter, Gary! Continue tapping through the dialogue.

Ah, so that'll be the solution!

Following Gary's dialogue, you'll be able to roam around the island. First off, let's check out a Coins for Change donation station, one of many around the island.

Press the orange button and you'll see this pop up.

Press the Learn More button and you'll be greeted to a longer pop up... During the event (Dec 6 - Jan 3), every 100 virtual coins donated contributes $5 dollars towards a real life charity up to a certain amount. Penguins can donate in 50100 and 150 intervals.

Upon your first donation, you'll be greeted with the Coins for Change pack, gifting you three holiday themed emojis.

Interface and Challenges

During the event you'll be able to collect and buy several holiday themed units through buying items using coins and contributing towards community efforts to complete holiday themed challenges (which will most likely run through out the event).

Dance for Power

To complete this (holiday themed) challenge, simply dance! You can do this by waddling over to Beacon Boardwalk while the dance floor is out, pressing the orange action button and choosing actions in the bottom right corner.

Similar results could be achieved by accessing the Dance Gear from My stuff > Gear,

Also per Gary's suggestion, contribute towards the challenge by completing some rounds of Dance Battle when the game is available. Learn more about that HERE.

Following that, your efforts will be counted via the interface, displayed as a yellow bar climbing to the star as per the correct challenge, and the corresponding tree in Island Central.

Play Crate Co. to Deliver Food

Simples! Simply play games of Crate Co. To learn how to play this particular community feature, view the start of this guide.

Collect snowflakes and ice crystals

To collect snowflakes, simply waddle around any island zone and look for the following blue snowflake-y looking items.

To collect ice crystals, check Blizzard Mountain for the following blue and shiny collectables.

The final holiday challenge from the Holiday 2017 interface seems to be unavailable at the moment, and thus means no totals can be contributed to this "tree"- The same can be said for the collecting and Crate Co. challenges for they are not working either. We hope to give you more information on this as it comes in.

Rooms

Here are the decorated rooms of the event, Starting with Island Central the hub of the event, I LOVE all the colour combinations.

Mount Blizzard also features new decor, specialising in lots of fairy lights- I hope these make a return to igloos soon!

Coconut Cove showcases lot's of presents. The landscape also gives off the feel of the Australian Holiday Season. Yep, many penguins in the country spend time at the beach: In a very hot climate.

Even the Sea Caves was given a jolly makeover! Although sparse, many favourite penguins getaways are decorated, including the Crab Cave (the crustaceans tried) and the Throne Room.

Lastly, Beacon Boardwalk, one of the most beautifully decorated spaces of the island, was included in the celebration. I'll let you judge!

Well, that brings us to the conclusion of this guide. Expect an update as we further fulfil Aunt Arctics' orders. What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, waddle on!
