Tomisino1’s Club Penguin Time Warps #14: Waddling to Aquariums

Club Penguin has waddled down to the southern hemisphere several times. Why? Not for migration. But to visit it's adoring fans down under! Here were some advertisements for the event that were on Television.

Actually that's a bit of an exaggeration...

Back in 2010, Club Penguin visited Melbourne Aquarium for the very first time, located in the capital city of Victoria, one of the seven states of Australia! There's a mini geography lesson for you, folks. It wasn't hard for Club Penguin to get there either, because they had an office close by also in the city. So it was more like a waddle down the other side of the city, rather than to the other side of the globe. It was held during one of the states school holiday blocks, between September 1 and October 3, so lots of people would be able to come! The month this was held was called Club Penguin Month. I wonder why?! #CLUBPENGUINTAKEOVER

There were daily treasure hunts, a games room, and free coin cards and an activity book to collect.  There were also workshops held, and, as you may have guessed, real life penguins to see!

A year later, Club Penguin went and visited the place again! This time, with double the penguins, and double the fun! On top of everything that there was last time, there were also illustrator workshops, Q&A sessions, and quizzes, as well as the presence of some well known Australian moderators and artists such as Chatterbox, and Adam, if my memory serves correct. This workshop also revealed the arrival of a new mascot, PH!

I actually went to the Aquarium in 2011 to see Club Penguin on the 6th October 2011. I remember finding out about the event in a newspaper at at the doctors survey, which I was at a few days prior to going, which I cut out and kept and still have today!

In all, the day was great. I had a fin-tastic time, and learnt lots of new things about a game which I was eager to play, and I came home with full flippers full of goodies! I created my account later the day, Tomisino1.

I remember the day as if it was yesterday. I remember visiting the games area, playing Herberts Revenge, and failing Club Penguin Game Day mini games. Fun times. AND of course the adorable looking penguins. Never forgot that!

Here was the merchandise I collected:

Three years later, Club Penguin went to Kelly Tarltons Sea Life aquarium... In New Zealand. I Presume a little bit of travelling was done there!

The aquarium did a post regrading the event:

That wraps up this tike warp, and the series, which will return next year! What are your thoughts on all this? I would love to hear those in the comments below.
