Holiday Party 2015 Review

Today I will be reviewing the Holiday Party 2015! My review will be based upon six categories; Visual Design, Storyline, Content, Music, Replay, and Glitches. Each category is worth 10 points. The combined total will be out of 60, and then a percentage will be calculated. Please remember that the review reflects my opinions, and you don’t have to agree with them!

Visual Design: 9/10
Just about all of Club Penguin's annual Holiday Parties have had excellent visuals, and this year was no exception. A substantial improvement from last year’s controversial We Wish You A Merry Walrus Party, the aurora sky had returned, bringing back that classic festivity feel that these parties have, and 27 rooms were decorated on the desktop version of Club Penguin. Many indoor rooms that had a window, door or an open area looking out onto the island had the aurora sky added to them as well, and this was a nice touch, though it would have been even better if these rooms had some animated lights or a holiday tree. This year, Club Penguin had introduced some brand new decorated rooms for the annual party, one of these being at the Ski Hill. This is the perfect example of a “Simple Decorated Rooms”.

Going onto the app, it was practically the We Wish You A Merry Walrus Party again. There
was no auaroa sky, the migrator was not accessible, and way less rooms were decorated on it. Though of course, this is sort of expected due to the capabilities so far on the app. Hopefully this will change soon.

Storyline: 10/10
Holiday Parties don’t really need story lines, because they are practically annual and expected, though Club Penguin went all out and did articles in the Club Penguin Times about it. Take for instance the below article…
The only thing that confused me was how the migrator sunk last November and magically came back exactly the same for this party? Maybe he only replaced the notice board in the Captain’s Quarters with a ship of the migrator because he missed the old one?

Content: 7/10
Content at this year’s Holiday Party were a bit… Rubbish. The challenges from the previous year were a letdown. What did you do after completing them? As they were incorporated into this year’s Holiday Party, the same is said. Club Penguin realised this and attempted to fix the issue by adding the bakery from the 2012 Holiday Party. You could bake cookies all day long! Similar things could be said with the trains at the Holiday Party 2013. Though this was never done due to a lack of time.  Most of the items from the interface and collectible around the island had either been reused or re-coloured, so that didn’t bring much joy to older players.

Music: 10/10
Music during annual Holiday Parties is fantastic, and this years is no exception! The music was festive and upbeat. Club Penguin always does a great job to have music matching the visuals... Keep it up Club Penguin!
Replay: 6/10
The replay level at this year’s Holiday Party is zero. After you completed the activities, there was nothing to do, and if Club Penguin did incorporate the bakery, which they attempted too but didn’t complete, you would have then been able to bake cookies all day long! Club Penguin did a bakery during the 2011 and 2012 Holiday Parties, and a train system during the 2013 Holiday Parties. Points for trying, Club Penguin!

Glitches: 7/10
There was one glitch at this party... The donation counter through the donation booth and interface didn't count the coins properly, at certain points throughout the party.
Overall, this years Holiday Party was great, and will be regarded as one of the best in the series.

The combined total is 48/60. This is also 80%. An excellent result.
